A Well Deserve Break from Training Run (My Hopeless Romantic Escapade)

Just like the old ways, too much work means the body is breakin' down.

I finally decided to take a break. This time, I headed to Asia to bag a peak and some heat training (lol).

Although I intended to take a short break, the workout session continued but not as strenuous as when I am in Northern California.

I enjoyed my time meeting friends I have not seen in a long long time. It was a binge drinking party almost every night.

But it was when I spent my last two days (May 18/19) in Makati that I enjoyed it tremendously and at the same time I regretted the most.

I met someone. For the first time ever in my life, I had an instant attraction to a man I don't even know the last name. Its not that he never told me of his name but I had plenty to drink and too far sighted that I couldn't read any letter when Mark presented to me, his driver's license.

Yes his name is Mark or Marc. I actually love that name....

Our meeting went on something like this...........

Marc or Mark (from Gold Coast, Australia) was introduced to me by his colleague in Spicy Finger (one of the restaurant in Greenbelt Mall). A friend and I were sitting next to their table. The older man ask of my age and I said "38" and older man pointed his finger to Mark that we are about the same age.

I responded " no - he looked 50s".......... Honestly that was my joke. I have not seen the clear face of Marc or Mark until after we moved to Havana Cafe and Mark ordered two rounds of drinks. I had two glasses of gin and tonic (as far as I could remember).

Mark asked me few times of my age. I was irritated by it but then he said that I don't look like my age... Good to know. I told Mark that I was educated in Australia and I love California because of its mountains...........

Mark, as what he told me, lives in Gold Coast while I live in Northern California - San Francisco Bay Area to Greater Sacramento region.

Marc mentioned to me that his job relates to Casino Gaming machine. I have no clue about gaming machines... I am an athlete for whatever sake. The last time I step into the casino house was over 5 years ago in Brisbane, Australia, with friends, but we were not even gambling at that time. We were clubbing and dancing =)

Marc or Mark have another colleague who went with him when we moved to Havana Cafe. If I remember his name is Gary, who is also into the Casino Gaming machine, a supplier or vendor maybe?

We talked about our travels. Mark mentioned that he had been in San Francisco California and I mentioned to Mark that I am a runner and I have run 100 milers. Mark was very impressed by it while I downplay the significance of my endurance feat. I also told him that I used to surf.

Mark mentioned to me that one of his best female friend's name is Ingrid. I made fun of my name because it is such an old school name....

I did not think of borrowing a pen to write the email address nor anything that I could contact Mark after my Asia trip. I did show Mark some of my facebook photos but my phone died :(

We had a lot of discussions about random stuff and Mark did mention that the next day (Monday) they are heading to Macau. If I am not mistaken, its the same company Echo Entertainment he work for or the Melco Crown. I don't know. These are just my wild guesses. There are so many Gaming Machine companies or gaming consulting firm in Gold Coast or throughout Australia.

To cut the story short, I like Mark at that time and I was instantly attracted to him. But I was hopeless romantic. I did not really realized and thought of my actions until Mark asked me if, at least, I could give him a hug.

I said "sure". Mark then hugged me. It was a long hug. Then we all walked out to each of our respective places. I had the feeling that Mark wanted to invite me to his hotel.

Ana, my friend who was with me, caught a taxi heading to her home. Mark was worried of me walking to a dark street alone but I reassured Mark that I'll be fine. So I offered Mark a hug instead. Mark looked at my face, I felt he wanted to kiss me but I deter to read his action. So I said bye and walked away.

Deep inside, I wanted to spend more time with Mark if only we have more time to spend together.

Instead I walked to my condo which was only a block away from the Greenbelt Mall. This is how hopeless romantic I am!

It's been weeks now that Mark and I departed from each other but I do miss him and wishing that one day Mark and I would see each other again.

I tried to contact Mark through Linkedin but without knowing the last name..it is hard.

So Mark if you are reading this, contact me... If you remember this pic you took
